1. The word of the Chief is law above all else, for the Chief has proven to be the strongest.
2. Guards and Warreners shall not mate, Guards shall mate with other Guards to keep them focused only on their duties. (You may have a 'forbidden romance' if you ask OOC, but your rabbits will suffer the consequences.)
3. There is a place for all rabbits among the warren, for our purpose is to offer belonging. However, a rabbit must be serving the warren in some way in order to remain. A rabbit with a splayed paw can still keep an eye out for oncoming predators, and so on. All have to contribute.
4. The Chief orders all, the Captain can order all but is ordered by the Chief, the Guard can order others if it is needed but is still ordered by the chief and captain. That is the way of things.
5. Before making dire changes, a Chief should consult with the captain and at least one or two Talon ranked rabbits.
6. Warreners are generally in charge of feeding themselves and their own saplings. However, if the Guard brings back a large clutch of Flay, then the Saplings, mothers, sickly or injured shall eat first.
7. If more than four warreners die in the care of a Tender, they shall lose their rank and job.
8. New rabbits who come from the outside- a previous Hlessi- shall sleep outside the warren to prove themselves, until the Chief deems it time for their rite.
9. Never mate with an outsider.
10. "Suspicious litters" shall be investigated. (Litters with outsiders, guards, etc) If a legal father cannot be presented for a litter, the Chief might, and does have the right to, do away with the litter. We do not want mingled blood without knowing where it came from.
11. No rabbit may mate until after their Rite.
12. No blood shed or battle. If you wish to settle a dispute in a Spar, you may do so during the monthly Quarrel. Any other fighting is punishable.
13. Never take a life or kill. It is not our duty to send rabbit to the Black Rabbit. Doing so is punishable.
14. Multiple cases of law breaking, or severe law breaking, shall result in one being given "The Mark." The mark is a scar given by the chief in which the offender is scratched and blinded in one eye.
15. It is a danger to our wellbeing and future to have Hlessil (loners) wondering our lands. All shall be asked to join, or simply chased out. We do not bother with forming alliances with the reckless and unloyal. They can attract Elil (predators and humans).
16. Once joining the warren, a rabbit may not leave. Deserters shall be tracked down and marked if they are found lingering.
17. Those who have died shall be brought to a place of Carrion, a place where it is safe to leave the dead. We cannot have dead rabbits and blood near our burrow, as it can attract Elil. All dead rabbits will be carried accordingly to a Carrion place, far from the burrow, where Elil can eat them without feeling the need to hunt us as well.
18. The Chief rank is fought for. If the Chief dies, it is custom for the Captain to step forward, but the captain must fight off any challengers seeking the rank. (If you are interested in challenging the chief, you can ask OOC. A vote will be held on the forum describing the two challengers, and whoever receives the most votes, is the one who shall win the IC fight when the time comes. The fight will then be scheduled for anyone who wishes to witness. You may be denied a challenge and a vote if the current chief is needed for the plot.)
